The Art of Eating Out

We all love to eat out but then wake up the next morning with a sense of regret regarding the night before.

However this can be avoided with a little knowledge and planning.  So here are some tips I've been using to both have my cake and eat it ;)

Always insist on knowing when in the week you will eat out.

Decide before hand and try to stick to a routine so the rest of the family gets used it.

Now you know you'll be eating out, you can compensate the day before and after by reducing your carbs on those days.

When you are at the restaurant know what you are eating.  Know the difference between a grill and a griddle.  Understand  that a burger bun, fries, soft drinks and of course desserts are all full of carbs.

That doesn't mean you don't eat it, but you do so with your eyes open.

Lastly - think about having dessert on a separate day.  Why not space it out ?

This (poor) picture is of a cake someone sent to me yesterday.  The missing slice is what I had in one sitting.  Now you don't want to be doing this everyday, but despite this I've actually managed to lose 1.5 kg in the last week.  This was because I planned and so had no carbs for brunch or dinner (I don't eat breakfast).

I plan to share many more details with resources to help you in the coming weeks.
